The firm's personal injury and tort practice includes nearly every area: wrongful death, motor carrier liability, products liability, medical malpractice, premises liability, and other personal injury litigation. For many years, senior counsel Charles E. McCranie and Ellis Ray Brown practiced personal injury law with the firm's founders, Baxter Finch and Claude Ross. That tradition continues, and each of the firm's other attorneys, Richard W. Hendrix, Michael A. Sullivan, Steven R. Wisebram, and David E. Naylor, has considerable experience in personal injury litigation.

The firm has a long reputation for credibility with defense attorneys, in part because five of the firm's attorneys formerly represented, or were associated with, major insurance companies such as Traveler's, Aetna, and Liberty Mutual.

"Business torts" is another substantial area of our tort practice. The firm's attorneys have experience in fraud, RICO, federal False Claims Act, unfair business practices, defamation, and other business tort cases. Because white collar criminal issues arise in civil litigation under RICO, the False Claims Act, and other fraud provisions, the firm's extensive experience in white collar criminal defense provides a distinct advantage to our clients in these cases.
